During a time when the world needed everyone to be apart…together was our favourite place to be.
The 2020 Covid-19 pandemic will go down in the history books, but a little memory or a start to your time capsule will teach future generations all about what lockdown was really like.
Jog the Frog and the Clamber Club Toddlers Fourways family decided to make a keepsake with our handprints.

Here is how we did it…

Items Needed:

  • A piece of A4 paper
  • Scissors
  • Pritt/craft glue
  • Coloured pens
  • A way to make your handprints.
    • You can trace your handprints on coloured card or newspaper
    • You can print your handprints with paint

Start by tracing the outline of the hand (left or right – decide which and stick to it) of every individual of your family. If you decide to rather do this with paint, make sure to let the previous handprint dry completely before placing another handprint on top of it.

Once you have your handprints, carefully cut them out and layer them onto the A4 piece of paper in the pattern you would like to make. We placed our handprints on top of each other but you could make them into the shape of a flower or something similar.

Now that you have the desired look for your Family Keepsake, you can glue it all down!

Ta-dah! Such a beautiful memory of when your kids were small and all you had were each other to love and enjoy each day with. Do not forget to date stamp your work so that when your children find it later in life they can see how little they were. And how their parents did everything to keep them safe and make them feel incredibly loved during such uncertainty.
